downstream processing overview
course description
This 12-hour lecture will give students an overview of the downstream steps used to purify cell cultures to prepare the final product. Students will develop an understanding of the chemistry and process considerations, using aseptic techniques to prepare formulations for fill and finish. They will also explore the various downstream processes and understand how technologies prepare medicines for patient use. By the end of this lesson, students will have the foundational knowledge of how cells are purified and tested for use by customers.
