Laboratory Safety, Skills, and Ethics
course description
This eight-hour course highlights concepts needed to work in a clinical laboratory in research or industry. Some topics covered are working safely in a laboratory, proper techniques for most of the measurement activities, performing basic mathematical calculations, understanding basic laboratory instrumentation, basic concepts in chemistry, biology, and microbiology, and performing laboratory activities aseptically. Concepts are covered in laboratory ethics and the consequences of laboratory work performed unethically and improperly.
